After finishing Czech-Spanish bilingual high school, I studied Education and Social Science, as well as International Area Studies at the Charles University. I have been able to link these two areas of interest at the master program at the University of Cambridge where I focus on international aspects of education science and comparative education. I am particularly interested in the topic of equity in education, in sociology of education and in professional development of teachers. After finishing my studies, I would like to gain experience abroad and then come back to work in the Czech Republic with the aim of contributing to the state of our educational system to help it face better the needs of the 21st century. I dream of increasing the prestige of the teaching profession – I remember how many people did not understand my choice to become a teacher. However, I consider it one of the most important professions in the society, since it is teachers who on every day basis help decide which kind of people and citizens will be living in our country in the years to come. I wish teachers were more appreciated and could benefit of a motivational career system. My biggest life passion is education itself – neverending learning, looking at the world with child’s eagerness, absorbing new cultures, learning language, and observing the surroundings from different perspectives. I feel grateful for the opportunities I have had in life, and I wish more and more children and youth in my country had a very diverse future.
