Zdenek Bakala participated as a permanent member at a planning meeting of the London
Design Museum Board of Trustees, discussing how to exceed the high standards set by its 2018 exhibitions. Two of the most successful exhibitions were
Ferrari: Under the Skin, retracing the 70 years of design and innovations of this iconic car, and
Hope to Nope: Graphics and Politics 2008-18, mapping the history of the ever-increasing role of technology and design in the dialog between citizens and politicians.
Each year, the Design Museum presents an impressive
list of events with
something of interest for all demographics. This year’s exhibitions range from taking a look at the ground-breaking work of Stanley Kubrick to reflections on humans on Mars and the design challenges it presents, to the power of the monumental architectural projects of Sir David Adjaye.
Zdenek Bakala also met with the Design Museum’s team working on the future development of this institution and on its educational projects, which play a key role in the Museum’s mission and activities. The year 2019 could be a year of growing synergy between the Design Museum and the philanthropic educational projects of the Bakalas.
