New seat for the Václav Havel Library

Václav Havel, in the company of Zdeněk Bakala and architect Ricardo Bofill, announced at a press conference that the Václav Havel Library would obtain a new and distinguished seat within a historical palace near Prague Castle.

Over the years, Zdeněk and Michaela Bakala have provided substantial support in backing this institution’s activities. The Bakalas held lengthy discussions with Václav Havel, both in person and through correspondence, over what direction it should take.
