Michaela Bakala joins podcast to discuss education, media, and populism

In early June, Michaela Bakala, entrepreneur and philanthropist, was a guest on Pavel Štrunc's “Hrot” podcast. In the interview, they talked about the European Parliamentary elections, the success of populist groups in Czech politics and elsewhere in Europe, and quality, independent journalism.

Much of the interview focused on education, as the Bakala Foundation, funded by Michaela and Zdenek Bakala, has long helped young people gain access to quality education. Michaela believes that Czech students who end up going to schools abroad benefit from the solid educational foundation they receive at home. She encourages schools to not fear offering their students opportunities to study abroad, because it doesn't have to be unaffordable or unrealistic.
